Falling In Love With ThirdLove

I’ve never been terribly concerned about finding a bra that fits and I always just seemed to find one that was “good enough” or worked. I know a large part of that has to do with the fact I am smaller chested, and even though many might see that as a negative, I have always loved it.  However, since becoming pregnant for the second time I can honestly say finding supportive, comfortable and pretty undergarments has been a huge challenge.

I actually heard about ThirdLove from my mom and when I received their 24/7 classic t-shirt bra in the mail to try I was excited to see if it was as amazing as everyone said.  I can honestly say I have yet to find a bra that is as comfortable and stylish as this one.  The fit isn’t the only thing I love about this bra, the little gold details, small ruffles on the straps, and fun vibrant purple color make a simple bra even better. All of their bras also come in half sizes because as I am learning, not everyone can fit in the standard cup sizes.   I am also have a huge soft spot in my heart for a company that gives back and while you can read more about ThirdLove’s mission on their website they have donated more than $1 million in bras to women in need since 2013.  Pretty amazing.

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend! We started the weekend a little early with a quick two day “getaway” to my parents beach house out on the East End of Long Island.  Brian had some work out there on Friday, so we used it as an excuse take a break from our routine at home and spend some quality time together as a family. We headed back home just in time to celebrate a beautiful Easter day at my parents with some extended family.  The highlight of the day was definitely watching Addison during her very first egg hunt.  I use the word hunt loosely because it was mostly my younger cousins pointing out where the eggs were and her running to pick them up.

Now, on to this dress! This was supposed to be a post baby, late summer outfit, but once again I had to try it on as soon as it arrived.  I loved that the waist was high enough to cover the bump without a problem (wearing my pre-pregnancy size small) and the open front and long back is a really flattering silhouette no matter your body type.  I do think as my bump gets bigger I might want to use a little stitch or pin in the front so the opening doesn’t flap out too wide, but for now it’s the perfect fit!  I paired this dress with small block heels for a dressier look, but I can totally see myself wearing this with  tie up or slide sandals to make the look more casual.  Now, if someone would just throw a garden party so I can wear this dress in public asap!  I hope everyone is having a great start to their week!

Casual Easter Style

Lately, I’ve been seeing so many cute options dress options to wear on Easter Sunday it’s hard not to want them all.  But, I have noticed that many of thee dresses are form-fitting lace numbers that just aren’t practical when your Easter Sunday is spent going to church and then relaxing at home with your family until it’s time to eat until you are stuffed.  That is pretty much our tradition each year, very laid back and very casual. Is it like this for anyone else?

When I first saw this dress online I thought it might be a good option for me post baby since it had a button down front (very nursing friendly) and the fabric looked nice and airy for those hot August days. I was pleasantly surprised when I received it in a mail and realized not only could I wear this later this summer, but I could totally wear this now.  It is so comfortable and pairing it with cute wedges makes it perfect for Easter Mass. I know this isn’t your traditional “Sunday Best” but I’m all about comfort these days, especially when I’ll be chasing after Addison while she searches for Easter eggs at Gram and Pops’ house!

Wednesday Wishlist: Outdoor Oasis

Since it looks like the cold weather is behind us, I can finally start to focus on finishing up what I like to call “phase two” of our home renovation, the exterior.  When we purchased the house we  had to take out every single tree and shrub in the front, along the back fence and along the side of the driveway because they were all dead.  It was a little overwhelming to see the house completely “bare” but it means we have a clean slate when it comes to what trees and flowers we plant.  After seeing the entirely exposed house we also realized we wanted to re-side, add white trim and replace every window (we also had to replace the roof but that was something we expected).

I am in love with how the front exterior turned out, but along with spring planting we will also be focusing on replacing the rails on our two tier deck in the back, since they are brown, to match the new white trim in the front.  We are hoping to create a cozy lounge area under the covered lanai so we can spend evenings out there enjoying time with family and friends.  With that in mind, I have been searching all over the internet and in every store I can think of to find the perfect setup that won’t cost us an arm and a leg.

So far, this comfortable looking sectional from Joss & Main is total front runner and after seeing this rug on a picture I found on Pinterest, I was so excited when I found out it was out major sale on Anne Selke.  I have settled on the light blue and rustic wood color palette and I hope to have the same look and feel on the upper level of our deck where our BBQ is.  There,  we plan on putting a large outdoor dining table and maybe a few more chairs to lounge in.  I have been looking forward to finishing up this part of our renovation for awhile now and it is making me so excited for the warmer months ahead.  If anyone has any suggestions on easy to maintain outdoor plants send them my way I know nothing about flowers and trees, other than what I think looks pretty!

Keeping It Classic With Duffield Lane

I love classic and versatile pieces. A LBD that fits just right, the perfect pair of dark jeans, a comfortable pair of nude heels, and of course a great white blouse that can be taken from the office to dinner  with a quick change of shoes and accessories.   Lately, what I love even more are those classic pieces that have taken me well into my second trimester of pregnancy without feeling like I’m wearing something too small or too large.

When this top arrived from Duffield Lane at first I thought, “oh, what a cute blouse” but then when I actually put it on I thought, “oh man, what an awesome blouse!”  It’s non maternity, (I’m wearing a medium and typically I’m a small when not pregnant) and the cut really flatters your body in all the right places.  It’s loose where it needs to be and would look great during the spring or summer with a pair of colored denim and cute sandals.  For now, I chose to pair it with my favorite pair of distressed denim and my go to pair of heels.  We have a few weekend getaways with family coming up and I’m pretty sure this look will be packed for each one.   I’m also crushing on this super comfortable looking hoodie from their new Spring 2017 line that I can see myself wearing post baby when at the beach with my family
