I have wanted to do another boudoir session with Boudoir Noire for some time. I did my first one 10 years ago when I was pregnant with my son. I was so broke back then, and Michael Jones, the photographer and owner of Boudoir Noire practically did them for free because I was so broke back then. That article is somewhere here on the site. I had scanned those photos back then, but lost my originals, so they don’t look as perfect as they should.
Now that I am older and have more money, I thought it would be proper to do it right this time. I called up Michael and booked another session. He remembered me from all those years ago. This time, I wanted beach photos, early in the morning at sunrise. Michael agreed to meet me at Melbourne Beach at 6am on the day I booked.
I chose to do my own makeup because of the early time, and didn’t want Michael’s makeup artist to have to be in my hotel room at 4am. But I’m pretty good with my makeup so that was fine.
We met in the parking lot of the hotel I booked near the beach. We walked down just as it started to get light. The beach was empty. No people in site anywhere. Yay! Good thing I booked this on a Tuesday lol. I wanted to definitely get some topless shots done and perhaps even full nudes, but wasn’t sure if people would eventually start jogging or walking by, so we just got right into it.
We must have took 500 photos. Afterwards, Michael got this down to about 75 that he edited in his dark and moody style. Honestly, I was only expecting 40 pics but Michael is like that, he always gives more than you actually pay for.
Trust me when I say that doing a boudoir photoshoot is a lot of work. If you aren’t ready for it, you can end up a little sore after. You are basically doing motions you never do day to day. My glutes were sore from lifting myself off the sand for 90 minutes.
There’s nothing quite as exhilarating as the cold morning breeze at the beach, fully nude while you try to pose with waves splashing you in the back. But these photos looked so amazing I just couldn’t believe it. Michael’s skills have improved so much from the last time I did a shoot with him. Gone was his nervousness, replaced with the experience of years of doing this repeatedly. I legit felt like a super model as he guided me from pose to pose.
I ordered the photo album too, which I will be giving to my husband for Christmas this year. I can’t wait for him to see them!
Check out Boudoir Noire if you are in the market for a boudoir photographer. I promise you will not be disappointed.
Bye!
